Hiking across the tulip fields on the 20st of April 2025.
The unique to this world, Flowering Zijpe hike is held on Sunday, the 20st of April 2025.
- The day of hiking in the biggest uninterrupted flowerbulbarea in the world, in the Head of North-Holland.
Only on Sunday the 20st of April 2025, fifty landowners give their permission to walk across their fields. The families of the bulbfarmers take care of cookies and drinks along the road. They can also explain things about the bulbfields.
The distances are: 7.5 - 8 - 15 - 20 - 30 kilometers. The different distances bring the hiker through very diverse parks like "Het Wildrijk" (wild hyacinths) and complimentary the "Nollenland van Abbestede". The true hiker who wants to cross 40 kilometres, can walk through the preserve of "het Zwanenwater" on their own initiative. (Do keep in mind that walking across bulbland is harder than average!)

Please note: Due to the low participation, we have decided that in 2025 no buses will run from Schagen Station to both starting locations. Those who come by train can, if desired, rent an (electric) bicycle from Fred's Bicycle Rental in Schagen. This must be reserved in advance by telephone. Tel no. 0224-299874
Children's puzzle tour Blooming Zijpe “What do you know about tulips, daffodils and hyacinths? How are the flower bulbs processed in the shed and when are the tulips planted? If you and your parents are going to walk the 7.5 or 8 kilometer walk of Blooming Zijpe, you will get to know these facts along the way. This year there will be information boards along the two shortest routes with facts about various subjects from the flower bulb sector. In addition to this information, there is also a puzzle word hidden in these signs. By answering the questions, you can pick up a nice surprise at the finish afterwards. “ During the walking day on April 25, 20235 a puzzle tour will be set out from both starting locations with fun, educational questions and facts about the flower bulbs. Participation for children costs 4 euros per child up to and including 12 years. With pre-registration the costs are 3 euros per child. The sign up for hiking on Sunday, the 20st of April 2025, is not yet opened. Date will follow. Sign up rates will be: - Adults € 8,50 by person - Kids up to 12 years old: € 3.00 by person

Warning: Dogs are not allowed on the walk! Participants are requested not to pick any of the flowers. This way we can ensure that the walk can be done the next years. At the start and finish there is plenty of oppertunity to buy tulips. The profits go to a good cause, the foundation of Flowering Zijpe made it their goal to be socially responsible. The profit of the flowersales goes to a foundation or a club to give their money-box a "boost".
